Quick Overview
MEPS rolls are heat-shrinkable socket joint corrosion protection coatings. MEPS is typically used on steel or ductile iron pipes coated with PE, concrete or other coatings, i.e. paint and zinc. MEPS is also used to coat reducers, bends and dielectrical joints. For specially designed bell & spigot type joints, please refer to our special range of products (TISK, TISW-F, TISKWF). Construction: Two-layer system with first layer being Visco-elastic butyl based adhesive and the second layer being thick-walled, radiation cross-linked, high density polyethylene. Covalence® MEPS products are available as a roll (closure patches to be ordered separately). Features of the product include backing with enhanced shrink ratio, high impact strength and high penetration resistance, it fully retains the deflection and longitudinal movement of the socket joint, the seal resists vibration and deflection and axial movement, there is no special filler needed, there is no primer needed, there is no special equipment needed, and it has low preheat requirements. Some benefits of the product include that it conforms easily to socket joint shapes, ther is virtually no risk of damage during operation, ther is no break of the sealing ring, its reliable high-performance seal stops water ingress, and it has a simple 1 part installation that keeps installation costs low and saves time.
