Quick Overview

Drill Bolts™ are 1/2” thick (12.7mm) in diameter and 6.25" in length. U-Clip is 14 gage. Drill Bolt™ and U-Clip™ are Hotdip Galvanized after fabrication in compliance with ASTM A153 requirement of 1.5 oz/ft2/side (CSA CAN-A370-04 requirement of 460g/m2/side) of zinc coating.

Complies Fully with US Building Codes:

• Drill Bolt is attached to the stud side; the connecting screws are stressed shear.


• Load resistance exceeds the requirements of CSA A370 and ACI 530 .


• The total mechanical free play in the system does not exceed 1.2 mm, as required by CSA A-370.


• The total sum of displacement under a load of 0.45 KN and mechanical free play in the system does not exceed 2.0 mm, as required by CSA A-370.


• All parts are hot dip galvanized after fabrication per ASTM A-153, to comply with level 2 corrosion protection requirements as defined in CSA A-370.


Rigid Insulation Integrity Remains Uniterrupted:

• The Drill Bolt creates a very tight penetration without disturbing adjacent sheeting and insulation.


• U-Clip adjusts rotationally from outside to seal the penetration and positively retain the insulation in place.


• U-Clip slot can be installed up or down to allow total vertical adjustment of 2 ¾” (70 mm).


Quick and Easy Installation:

• The Drill Bolt™ installs with a power drill; the cutting point will penetrate through the sheeting and insulation from inside.


• The Drill Bolt™ is equipped with a hex head matching the screw hex head so that only one tool is used.


• The Drill Bolt™ is notched to indicate the depth of insertion required.
